《尊严》讲述的是中国留学生在美国的故事。赴美留学 生林雪在一个名叫露易莎的老妇人家做管家，露寡居多年， 性情古怪，并有种族偏见，善解人意的林雪先是百般忍让， 最终不堪忍受对方的侮辱提出辞职。露为挽留林雪，召回正在竞选议员的儿子、大银行家爱德华帮助说服，但遭到林雪拒绝。爱恼羞成怒，对其言辞侮辱，并大打出手。为了维护尊严，林雪决定状告爱德华。美籍华人律师李岩为林雪出庭辩护。林雪不屈不挠的精神和李岩义正辞严的辩护终于征服了陪审团。在法庭上，败诉的爱德华向林雪赔礼道歉，并将一张赔偿支票交给林雪。林雪毅然将支票捐献给美国儿童教育基金会。

夏日，艾宁（刘小锋 饰）发现人贩子骗卖中学生小梅（朱芸饰），挺身追赶，慌不择路的人贩子孙富（毕远晋 饰）被迎头驶来的火车轧死。结果艾宁被误为凶犯，面临刑罚重判。姐姐艾静（霍凡 饰）从小与艾宁相依为命，她相信弟弟是被冤枉的，急于救弟弟的她四处奔走，多方碰壁后幸遇律师周光兆（韦国春 饰），周鉴于艾静的真诚接手了这个案子。他找到孙富的弟弟孙贵（周国宾 饰）取证，不料巧遇另一个人贩窦安子（周志清 饰），他救下受到人身威胁的周律师，而孙贵则意外坠楼身亡。周律师获取有利于艾宁的证据，但法院仍以过失杀人判了艾宁八年刑。自认无罪的艾宁企图越狱洗冤，结果又被加了刑期......

Featuring 14 women and men in Toronto of South, East and Southeast Asian backgrounds, Orientations was the first documentary to explore the experiences and perspectives of queer Asians in North America. Capturing pivotal moments in Toronto’s history, it presents an intimate portrait of the texture of gay live and politics at that time. Re:Orientations revisits seven of the original participants as they see anew the footage of their younger selves, and reflect on their lives and all that has changed over the intervening three decades. Their interviews are deepened and contextualized by conversations with six younger queer and trans activists, scholars and artists.
